My work explores the dynamic relationship between space and connection. Every piece is created
understanding the value of textures influence on our choices; it’s a reflection that what we feel and
how we feel is vital to how we encounter the world around us and the worlds we create.
I create multimedia art. By manipulating the form of different mediums chosen, the value of each
of their functions adds to the whole construction. The photos serve as a foundation of what can be
built on a captured moment. Egg shells are cleaned, baked, hand ground into different sizes, and
mixed into the paint of each piece, embedding life and protection. Broken, shattered mirrors and
glass is used, reflecting small pieces of the observer in the art. Hemp and Jute ropes are used as
communication tool; they are dyed, treated, tied, or shredded- and guided by my touch. Every
knot becomes a union observed, an exchange bound to an opportunity to see how space between
the next connection can be and is used. Using the ropes, I install temporary rope art structures that
enhance the environments they’re in while exchanging with it.
