I want to immerse everyone in my mind. I consider my paintings to be dreamscapes. They’re snapshots of how my views on life, people, and spirituality cobble themselves together in my sleep. My dreams are often vivid, harsh, and palpable. When I wake up, I reforge my visions in paint.
Malissa is a Brooklyn born painter and illustrator. She graduated from SUNY New Paltz with a BFA in Painting. Her favorite subjects are faces and the human figure. Some of her biggest inspirations are Kerry James Marshall, Frida Kahlo, and Charles White.
