Isamar Gonzalez is a designer and fiber artist based in Brooklyn. As a model, Isamar has been at the center of the fashion industry for 20 years, working with top designers who inspired her to cultivate her own artistic passions. At 28, Isamar decided to enroll at the Fashion Institute of Technology. However, after being accepted, life proved to have other plans for her. She gave birth to a beautiful baby girl and family came first. After 5 years, she decided to enroll again, where she learned many innovative techniques to create wearable art. Isamar’s work is inspired by traveling and doing good in the world. Isamar founded her nonprofit, Hula Nation, in 2013 with a mission to inspire health and beauty through art and movement. Isamar sells and rents her designs, and has shown them at galleries such as The Fearless Artist Popup Gallery during Art Basel Miami.
